Municipal Revenue Service Staff Attends Tax Claim Bureau
Association of Pennsylvania 2011 Fall Conference
This was a very busy month for Municipal Revenues staff. We
not only continue to serve current clients, but also have made a
growing number of presentations to Districts, and other taxing
entities, across the Commonwealth. October was especially busy
as we had staff attending the PA School Board Association's 2011
School Leadership Conference as well as the Tax Claim Bureau
Association of Pennsylvania's 2011 Fall Conference, a first for our
team.
We are very pleased to announce that our presence at the Tax
Claim Bureau Association of Pennsylvania's Fall Conference was
a great success. We were warmly received by County Tax Claim
Directors and other administrative personnel where we currently
have transactions and by many others that were eager to learn
what we do. The Conference served as an excellent platform to
get our message out. It is often hard to dispel rumors about what
you do unless you have the opportunity to meet with someone
face to face with the facts. This Conference gave us the chance
to present our program to the individuals that we rely on in order
to effectuate our I-PORTAL Tax Lien Program. These individuals
have, and continue to provide, the excellent local collections
services essential to the success of our program. Repeating out
mantra..."We are NOT tax collectors" to the county tax claim
bureaus helped to provide a better understanding of the program and resulted in a greater overall acceptance. It was also great to see
so many of our current county clients help spread the word to others as well.
Municipal Revenues continues to rely on the County Tax Claim Bureau offices to provide the excellent services that work hand in hand
with our program, and, with their continuing assistance, we look forward to serving clients in many more Districts and taxing entities
across the Commonwealth.
Everybody Wants GREEN.
Okay, We'll Give You GREEN.
Green energy, green buildings, green, green, green. This is the
direction that School Districts and Municipalities across the
country are taking up with great success. All very sound and
wise objectives that often come with varying degrees of added
up front costs years before a return on these investments is even
realized.
Now, how to pay for it!? Let the Municipal Revenue Services
I-PORTAL program help you with some of the upfront costs by
using the "new" revenue generated from selling your delinquent
real-estate tax receivables. Most new green energy projects
require up front engineering or other costs to get the project
started. As the project moves forward, often the added costs to
go green may outweigh what is perceived to be a good idea
initially, and the green benefits are dropped.
The I-PORTAL program is designed to provide a District with an
initial shot of new revenue and maintain future budgeted
receivables at their current level. Our client list shown on our
web site will bear out what we say. Give a few of your peers a
call then schedule a meeting with a MRS representative. You will
be very surprised how easy and open we are about our program.
"MRS is not a tax collector. They are someone
that is there to help the District financially with
cash flow. Is this a good program? Yes, I believe
it's a good program. For cash flow, and finances
on behalf of the District, we know that there's a
certain amount of money coming in annually.
With the way the economy is these days, we
know we're getting our money up front."

Program Presentation / Testimonial Video
"Based on the way the governor was changing
their view on education funding, we wanted to
take a proactive approach. I can’t say enough
about the MRS program. It has really helped us
through this tough budget cycle, and I anticipate
it’s going to help us through the next couple of
budget cycles, so I look forward to more years
of good transactions with the MRS."
